What's been Dug Up: Advanced Genetics Mod

Next up is the Advanced Genetics Mod made by ObsiLP, a user on Minecraft Forums. In a nutshell, the mod is essentially taking the DNA of different mobs and injecting them into yourself to gain special abilities. As a heads up, the download link down below will also have the recipes for all the tools in the mod.

Blaze Skin Scales

OK, so since the point of the mod is genetics, it makes sense that you would need to gather the genes of various mobs, right? A tool that you should start off with in this mod is the Scraper, which lets you, well, scrape mobs for their skin scales. You then need to put them into the Analyser, which will create a cell from that particular mob and an Organic Drop. The Organic Drop will come in handy later on in removing DNA.

You will need ALOT of Iron Ingots in creating these machines

To make the rest of the process short, you put the cells into a DNA Extractor, which in turn makes a Helix. Then you must put the Helix into a DNA Encoder for decryption. You put the decrypted Helix into a DNA splitter, and you're allowed to select the gene you want to make. This is where you decide what ability you want. The then-created gene is put into a DNA Breeder (you will need to input 20 genes.)

Gene on the left, Syringe on the right

OK, we're almost there guys so just hang in there! The next tool that is needed is a Syringe so that you can take your blood. You put the Filled Syringe into a Centrifuge and take the resulting Centrifuged Syringe and put it into a DNA Combiner. After this process, you take the Syringe and inject the contents into yourself (prepare for a little nausea.) And then you will receive the abilities of a mob!

OK, so as a little warning, there are a couple of bugs in the mod that you should look out for. If you want to see more about the mod and/or download it, you can go here. Have fun!

What's been Dug Up: Mutant Zombie

This is the last Mutant Mob that I'll be showing you guys. Yes, yes, some of you already know about the Mutant Snow Golem, but I'll leave that Mob up to you guys to find out about on your own. As always, this mod is created by a player known on the Minecraft Forums as thehippomaster21 and I really hope that many of you decide to try it.

OK, so the Mutant Zombie has turned into more of a undead monster because of its extreme resilience, at least when compared to the other Mutant Mobs. Like the Mutant Skeleton, it doesn't take any damage from sunlight, but it does become more difficult to kill at night (it heals 1 heart every 5 seconds.) The Mutant Zombie comes with 3 separate attacks which are melee, roar, and throw.

In the middle of its Throw Attack

In the Melee Attack, the Mutant Zombie slams the ground and damages whatever is close and in front of the attack. When it does a Roar Attack, it deals damage to whatever is in range of the Roar as well as spawns Zombies to help it fight. The Throw Attack is the most powerful out of the 3, where the Mutant Zombie will throw a player up into the air and then smack them back down.

Burn baby burn!

When a player kills a Mutant Zombie, it will lay down onto the ground. At this point, the Mutant Zombie must be lit on fire (with flint and steel) or else it will get up again. When it is finally gone, it will drop a Hulk Hammer, which does pretty much the same thing as the Mutant Zombie's Melee Attack. There's no crafting involved with the Mutant Zombie, so that Hammer is what you get out of killing it.

Alright, so I'm done with the Mutant Creatures Mod and I will move on to something else. I thought it was pretty cool and if you think so as well, you can head over to here. Happy Minecrafting!

What's been Dug Up: Mutant Enderman (Part 2)

OK, so we're going to go into making an Ender Soul Hand and what it can do. As always, this mod is created by a player known on the Minecraft Forums as thehippomaster21 and I really hope that many of you will decide to try it out.

Remember that you'll take damage while gathering Endersoul

Alright, as I said previously, when a Mutant Enderman dies, it disintegrates and its Endersoul spreads. The player can pick up that Endersoul by right-clicking it, but it will not appear in the inventory and instead will follow the player around. After that, if an Eye of Ender (which is also dropped by the Mutant Enderman) is dropped onto the following Endersoul, an Ender Soul Hand will be made.

A player is free to throw wherever they please

When an Ender Soul Hand is currently equipped, any block that is right-clicked will be held in mid-air and can be thrown by the player by right-clicking again. Throwing a block does deal damage to whoever is on the receiving end of the flying block. However, it must be kept in mind that an Ender Soul Hand has a limited number of uses.

Plenty of particles appear when you teleport

Also, the item allows its user to teleport by pressing shift and right-clicking to wherever the user is facing. It does not deal damage like an Ender Pearl, so there's no problem in that regard. The only drawback is that that teleporting takes up 4 uses instead of 1. However, it can be recharged by dropping it and letting it absorb any gathered/following Endersoul.

The Ender Soul Hand only has these 2 abilities, but they have a lot of potential in battle and in just exploring your Minecraft world. If you feel like downloading the mod, go here.
